About Equisea

Jonathan Roulston Tunnell

Jonathan has vast knowledge and experience in the Equestrian Industry in handling performance horses both on the flat and under the saddle.

By using his skills as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist, it then enabled him to start Equisea.

He started his career "hands on" in the Industry in 1998 by doing a National Diploma in Breeding Management course whilst working at the National Stud in Newmarket. From there, he moved onto working at Westerlands Stud, which is situated at the bottom of the South Downs in the heart of West Sussex, where he prepared "yearlings" for a short time before moving onto The Royal Studs in Norfolk.

From 1998 to 1999, Jonathan worked at The Royal Studs as a Stud Hand where he gained vast knowledge and experience working in all areas of the stud industry, from mare and foal management, and supervising the foaling unit to rehabilitating one of Her Royal Majesty the Queen's racehorse back into training.

In 1999 to 2000, Jonathan flew over to Australia to gain valuable experience working on one of the leading Australian Studs "Arrowfield Stud" near Scone. Here, he worked on the Stallion Station looking after top class thoroughbreds such as "Danzero, "Flying Spur" and "Timber Country". In 2002, Jonathan enrolled on a course in Equine Sports Massage, this enabled him to go out into the industry as a fully qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist. From this point, he started to create a name for himself in the Equine industry. The following year, Jonathan took this one step further and set up his own company called Equisea Ltd.

In 2003-2004, Jonathan embarked in designing the World's 1st Mobile Equine Hydrotherapy Spa, giving him the opportunity to work with high profile horses at major events such as Badminton, Gatcombe, Hickstead and many more. With the use of the spa and his knowledge, Jonathan went onto working alongside many high profile racehorse trainers and event riders successfully rehabilitating horses and bringing them back into competition and helping them return to peak performance.

In 2005, Jonathan became UK and Ireland agents for a German based company called Activo-med that produce unique therapy products. These products are fast becoming a "must-have" with professional riders and training looking to maximise the potential of their horses.

In 2006, Jonathan became a distributor for an Australian based company called Mirotec Technology that produce an extensive range of products using heat reflective treatment technology.

In 2007, we became the U.K distributors for the MacKinnon Ice Horse© equine cold therapy wraps with First+Ice© reusable cold and heat therapy inserts. Click here to download our MacKinnon Ice Horse© brochure.

We are delighted to announce that we are supporting the British Equestrian Federation with our MacKinnon Ice Horse© equine cold therapy product range.

In 2008, we are distributing the Back On Track Human, Canine and Equine product range.
