Dickens Diary - June 2008
Deekie has had quite a busy month - apart from continuing his on going education he has also been on his fair share of adventures in his trailer. One of his adventures was to a friends yard, where we used their Olympic outdoor arena for a schooling session on the flat. John came with us, so I used this as a perfect opportunity for him to video me schooling Deekie. Throughout the last year I have used the camcorder as a training aid and also as a log/ record to look back on and see the progress that he has made since arriving at New Barn Equine.
In the middle of June, John, Deekie, the girls and I once again packed our bags and headed off to Surrey for another 2 days of Dressage training at T.T.T. I had a fantastic 2 days of training and Deekie once again thrived with the classical method of training taught and used and immediately showed improvement with his work.
Towards the end of the month, I organised New Barn Equine's 1st Dressage clinic, which proved to be a good success. All of the available sessions were filled within a week of the notice going up on the board. On the day the weather stayed in our favour and everyone turned up on time for their session. The feedback was fantastic and every one thoroughly enjoyed the day. I have organised another clinic for the beginning of August and only have 2 slots left to fill!
I am looking forward to next month as I have organised another show jumping and x country training day with Wil Miflin and much more. Watch this space!
Watch out for my next installment........
